Winter Wonderland in the Vondelpark

Theo van Kampen
When you wake up a sunday morning it can happen that Amsterdam has changed.... Into  Winter Wonder Land and than there is just one thing to do (after coffee & breakfast of course): take a walk to the Vondelpark and enjoy the fresh air!

The Vondelpark is a medium size public urban park, located in Amsterdam Oud-Zuid, near the Leidseplein. The park was opened in 1865 and originally named the "Nieuwe Park", but later renamed to "Vondelpark", after the 17th century author Joost van den Vondel.
In the summer the park is favorite hang-out for everybody who want to escape the bustle of the city. In the summer season during the weekends there are always free concerts in the open air to enjoy

Theo takes a hike in the snowy 'woods'

Nadia prepared to the max!

Mom pulling the sledge with a happy kid

Dutch kids absolutely love snow. From the first snowflakes on they went complete berserk!

Bulgarian musicians playing a traditional 'horo': Live in Amsterdam!

As always, the Dutch just cannot leave their bikes....

The Vondelpark is gorgeous on a day like this.

But this snow wont last long. The lonesome Snowman will soon turn into a puddle of water leaving us with jus memories of the past few hours
